For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to the outdoors — to rivers, meadows, forests, and mountains. Communing with nature, I become connected to cycles and rhythms, order and harmonies.
And, I love the act of painting. The joy of time spent listening, observing, and then responding with brush marks on canvas.
While painting outdoors, I experience a visual call and response, a sensory interplay with my surroundings. There is the outer dance of light and color shapes within my visual field and the inner call for presence that gives rise to each color note.
